The Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Technical University of Moldova invites researchers, academic staff, PhD students, and industry specialists to participate in the National Scientific Symposium with International Participation “Biotechnologies and Sustainable Development”, which will take place on May 12, 2026, in Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, in a hybrid format (on-site and online).
The symposium aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for the presentation and discussion of recent advances in biotechnology that contribute to sustainable development. The event will bring together representatives of academia and industry to exchange scientific knowledge, research findings, and practical experience.
The scientific scope includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: bioeconomy and circular economy approaches; environmental and microbial biotechnologies; bioremediation and green technologies; biotechnology and the One Health approach; smart and climate-resilient agriculture; industrial biotechnology; nanobiotechnology and innovative biomaterials; and the social and economic dimensions of sustainable development.
The program will include:
- Plenary lectures (20 minutes)
- Invited lectures (15 minutes)
- Oral presentations (10 minutes)
Poster session
The working language of the symposium is English.
Participants are invited to submit abstracts or full papers, prepared in full compliance with the Author Guidelines and formatting templates provided by the organizers. All submitted materials will undergo peer review. Accepted contributions will be published in the official Symposium Proceedings, which will be assigned an ISBN, and each abstract or full paper will receive a DOI.
